ViolinThe Cello has a beautiful, expressive, mellow tone and is crafted from maple, spruce and even fibreglass nowadays.

The strings are steel and usually played with a bow or sometimes plucked with the fingers.

The Cello is the second largest member of the string family and an important part of the orchestra. It has four strings C-G-D-A which are tuned an octave lower than the viola. The beautiful tone produced is often said to correspond with the human bass voice.
