Introduction:-

 

This program will prepare you for most theory grade examinations in the U.K. up to Grade 5. It is designed to cover the minimum of requirements  and to be reasonably comprehensible to children and adults who have at least started learning a musical instrument.. It is not meant to replace paper and pen methods but this type of learning does have the advantage of live 'sound' and fast links to the entire program. Because of this we are including Aural (ear) tests throughout the program. Having said this, please do not neglect using pen and paper. Links are given to sites where more specialized information is available (see Window to the Web from the links menu) If you are a complete beginner then study the first section The Prep-Level and then follow the links as you progress through the levels. If you are sitting external exams with a UK based exam board then look for the logos for a more specifically targeted syllabus

We hope you like the free website and enjoy learning more and more about the magical world of music and if you are a private music teacher then no doubt you will benefit greatly from this added dimension as children today are well used to tackling homework and assignments on their PC. We designed the website originally for our own (private) pupils but realized that this resource could be of use by anyone involved in music education whether school, academy, college or private educator. This entire website is contained within the downloadable  program which can be used offline in its own stand-alone browser. The small fee for your password to open the entire course will help us to keep the project going and to further develop and update the technical side of things. (we have plenty of ideas but may need to employ some added expertise in order to bring them to fruition) We are currently working on a program called 'Chord Perfect' which will cover the harmony, counterpoint and part writing requirements for grades 6, 7 and 8, By the way,  if you have already done so, thank you for purchasing the E-book password!
